Bethlehem, New Hampshire

   The Sayer Cottage was built in 1897 by William Sayer Jr. It was the first of his four "Cottages" that are adjacent and to the east on Main Street. It was designed by Architect Edward Thornton Sanderson who also designed the Maplewood Casino at the east end of town. See the History page for further information. With 14 rooms the Cottage offers six bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, laundry, kitchen, dining, entry, living and library/sitting rooms and features a huge wrap around porch from which to view the mountain ranges and beautiful sunsets of the White Mountains. Bedrooms can be furnished with full or single beds to accommodate a variety of guests and religious groups . It will accommodate 12 single beds. It is a rooming house layout and the bathrooms are shared. The Cottage is furnished with many period antiques to help maintain the original character and charm of the building. Bethlehem Country Club is right across the street with a full restaurant, bar and a Donald Ross designed PGA Golf Course with views of the Presidential Range of the White Mountains. Forest Lake is nearby for swimming and fishing and The Rocks Estate, a 1400 acres nature and educational preserve is just down the street with hiking, picnics, and many other ongoing activities offered.
